Underestimating the power of a friend

Sometimes we underestimate the power of a friend. The friend who unconditionally loves you. The friend who is not afraid to grasp your face in their hands and tell you that you’re not a collateral offering. The friend who makes you realize it is time to make a change and remove the blanket that covers your thoughts and your feelings.

Close your eyes, rub your hands through your hair, reach out and take that leap of faith. You can’t wait by the phone for the call or text to tell you that you’re wanted. You can’t wait for someone to crawl into bed next to you to touch you with the sole intention to learn everything about you. If you do, chances are you will be waiting forever…
