In Reason to Believe, Bruce Springsteen sings, “At the end of every hard-earned day / people find some reason to believe.” What’s your reason to believe?
I have always, essentially, been waiting. Waiting to be that person I always thought I was on the verge of becoming, waiting for that life I thought I would have. In my head, I was always one step away. So here I am, waiting. Waiting for that time, that person, that event when my life will begin. Waiting for that big moment that change in my life that would sweep me off my feet, discombobulate me and carry me the rest of the way through my life. But I realize now that there is no big moment, it is nothing but a myth. Day by day my life is passing by while I wait for it to begin.
But what I’m finding is: this is it. The thing I’m waiting for, that adventure, that move-score-worthy experience unfolding. This is it; this moment in life is the most precious thing any of us will ever experience. Your life is your big moment.
My reason to believe is all around me in every moment. What is your reason to believe?
