Single vs. Married

  1. Money.
    • A single person doesn’t have to worry about money being spent without their knowledge. They don’t have to ask or consult someone when they want to make a purchase.
    • A married couple has to communicate with each other to ensure they are both aware of what money is being spent. And runs a higher risk of money being spent without the others knowledge.
  2. Pick up and go.
    • A single person can pick up and go without consulting or informing someone else they are going somewhere or doing something. There is never a need to worry about being back at a certain time.
    • A married couple is expected to consult, inform and check in with their partner when they are going somewhere or doing something. They must be aware of the time as they are expected to be back at a certain time.
  3. Jealousy.
    • A single person does not have to worry about someone being jealous of what they did or who they spent their time with.
    • A married couple has to be careful of what situations they engage in and who they engage with as their partner may become jealous and accusatory.
  4. Food.
    • A single person can eat what, when and where they want to. There are no one else’s particular tastes to consider.
    • A married couple has to take into consideration their partners likes and dislikes of the places and foods they enjoy. This often causes a back and forth conversation that begins with, ‘I don’t know, what do you want’.
  5. Feelings.
    • A single person doesn’t have to consider anyone’s feelings other than their own.
    • A married couple has to be in constant tune with their partner’s feelings. If they notice that their partner is having a bad day, they have to ask how they are feeling and listen to whatever they have to say, even if they really don’t care.
